As you say it is very difficult to predict the timing of the different stages of dementia. My father is 81 and currently coping at home with a carer going in twice a week and a day at a day centre a week. I have re organised my work so I can see him every week as well as take care of my 2 teenage sons. Day by day its OK but I do worry about what next and the speed of the changes taking place with him. Having said that I feel I now know him better than I did when he was well!
