Independent Age is a long established and growing charity providing information, advice and support for older people.
Offering “a helping hand from a trusted friend”, its approach is varied according to the need of the individual.
This may be general information about welfare benefits and issues affecting older people in its Wise Guide or specific tailored support from its advice line or the chance to engage with other older people and volunteers through friendship services such as Live Wires.
Independent Age works with and for older people affected by financial poverty or lack of information and advice or those who are isolated. It is a founding member of the Campaign to End Loneliness.
By listening to the older people it supports and to the views of other experts, Independent Age aims to develop ideas that will truly help with the everyday problems facing older people.
